When teaching the trumpet and trombone, David usually has his brass students start their mute collection with the Humes & Berg “Stonelined” straight mute. This is often obtained in the 9th grade when students reach high school and have the opportunity to play in their school jazz band, or “stage band”. The next mute the student should get is a cup mute. After that, the student should pick up a Harmon mute. “Harmon” is the brand name of the mute Sally Trombone for Brass Quintet. This Bach 36 trombone has been modified to be a more commercial instrument and would work well for jazz playing or other styles that need a brighter sounding trombone but for a trombonist looking for a larger bore and more free blowing instrument Tristan und Isolde, WWV 90: Trombone 2 part [A2351]. When he stopped playing for two weeks, the symptoms lifted. Later, his instrument was found to be contaminated with fungal and elements and bacteria.
